North Gilliam County Rural Fire Protection District is located in north central Oregon and provides fire protection/hazmat and rescue services to approximately 435 square miles for our first response area. Although our district is primarily dry land wheat farms and rangeland, we provide automatic aid to the City of Arlington. We also provide service to 34 miles of Interstate 84 and Union Pacific Railroad, which both lie next to the Columbia River on the district’s northern boundary.  Our volunteers respond to about 90 calls each year. Those calls vary from Wildland fires, Motor Vehicle Crashes, Ambulance Assist, and Structure Fires.
